Challenge accepted! First graders were challenged to complete a code with a missing action to allow their robot to successfully complete the path. Miss Smith wrote a grant to buy these robots for Mount Hope and they are bringing lots of joy and genius to Tech Class!
We may be biased, but we're pretty sure we have the best volunteers there are! It was an absolute honor and joy to celebrate the amazing family and community members who volunteer their time, money, and energy to continuously support Mount Hope. Once again, THANK YOU for all you do for us!
The rain held off long enough for fourth graders to have a fun field trip at Big Joel's Safari! Students came back sharing that it was the best day ever!!
We have some promising engineers among us! Mount Hope made an impressive showing at the STEAM competition last night. Congratulations to 4th grades Jack Stage and Brock Reis who took home 2nd place medals for the toothpick arch and 5th grades Weston Snarr, Reid Hinton, and Connor Blust who were the champions in the catapult challenge with an 83 inch launch!
One book can open the door to so many more opportunities! After reading Mel Fell, in which a Kingfisher is the main character, Mrs. Dawson, our librarian, led younger students to create a Kingfisher of their own, and older students on a search to learn more about this type of bird.
Excitement filled the air at MHE as students eagerly gathered to witness the rare celestial spectacle of a solar eclipse. Armed with protective eyewear, they gazed skyward in wonder, marveling at the gradual dance of the moon obscuring the sun. Students across the playground exchanged awe-filled whispers and shared their observations with wide-eyed fascination. For these young learners, experiencing the eclipse was not just a lesson in astronomy but a magical moment that ignited curiosity and sparked imaginations.

You get what you focus on. Mrs Sind's 5th grade class is tracking many of the accomplishments they are achieving in and out of school. The class is working together to fill their jar!
How many books would a 3rd grader read if a 3rd grader could read books? Hopefully the answer is 40! 3rd grade students are working on fluency, stamina, and comprehension by participating in the 40 the book challenge. They strive to read books from various genres. Their teachers have set up a fun bulletin board to help track their progress!

Sure you can solve a problem, but can you share and show your thinking? Step into just about any math lesson at MHE and you will see students explaining how they solved with both pictures and words. Students in Mrs. Schuler's 3rd grade class worked together to decide which fraction was greater.
A simple thank you goes a long way! Our students absolutely rocked the emergency drills we held this week, including the statewide tornado drill. The fire department gave us a 100% and great praise for our seamless fire drill. As a reward, all classrooms were given cookies to be able to celebrate their hard work as a class. Mrs. Parton's friends had the idea to write a thank you card to Mrs. Carter for the cookies. It was a very sweet surprise!
Our second graders put on a spectacular musical performance last week led by MHE music teacher, Ms. Lloyd! Dazzling in their pajamas and with the support of their stuffies, our talented students delivered an unforgettable show filled with laughter, music, and pure joy. From whimsical dance numbers to charming songs, they brought the enchanting pajama party theme to life on stage, captivating the audience with their boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm.
Let your leadership shine! Our speakers leaders are doing just that on the morning announcements. They prepare and rehearse their scripts to give an excellent, professional presentation for the whole school on important information for the day. We might have some future news broadcasters on our hands!
