This is the image for the news article titled MAP Testing begins at WES!Each year, students in grades 3-5 participate in the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP).  This grade-level assessment is the state of Missouri's yearly standards-based test that measures specific skills for each grade.  This year 3rd, 4th and 5th grade will test in English Language Arts and Math. Fifth grade will also participate in the science assessment. Fourth grade will participate in a writing prompt within the English Language Arts test.

There is a four-week testing window, which includes testing and make-ups, April 23 - May 23. Please see dates listed below. Please consider making any appointments, etc., during this time outside of the school day, allowing your student to participate with his/her class.
Also, your child will need headphones for the test. Please check with your child to make sure that their headphones are working properly and/or that they have been using them for technology.

How can you help your child on test day?  A few tips include:
-Be aware of the testing schedule
-Be certain that your child has had adequate rest (this may mean getting them used to an earlier bedtime before the week of testing)
-Dress your child in layered, comfortable clothing.
-Have a positive attitude
